Well, it is still early, but it seems like it has been summer for a long time. The garden is coming along. Today, I had my first homegrown salad of the summer: romaine, red lettuce, purple kale, green kale, kohlrabi leaves, parsley, yellow squash, and radishes. I thought I would try the kohlrabi leaves, since they are a brassica, but I think I have decided that they need to be cooked. The kohlrabi bulb is good raw, but they are not ready, yet. There are tomato flowers just starting, too. We are about to be drowned in yellow squash. The zucchini, which were planted by seed, have not started making flowers, yet. The green beans are looking lovely, but no flowers, yet. I am amazed at how well the garden is doing, considering that it is my first garden in years. I even missed more than a week of even going out there to look at it and it did okay. I hoed and weeded last night and tilled this morning. There is a nasty variety of grass that is being difficult and the bindweed is making it's presence known. Otherwise, it is doing very well.
Art? Well, I haven't been in my studio for weeks, now. I am thinking about it, though... As soon as something happens, I will let you know.
